Sun Salutation

This sun salutation includes a fun poem that goes along with each yoga pose.
This is a great activity to do in the morning or during a transitional period (for example, after lunch) to get minds and bodies ready to focus.

Yoga Games

A few fun yoga games have been included here. These can be used to get wiggles out before settling down to learn, or as a fun movement break throughout the day.

Progressive Muscle Relaxation (for kids!)

Progressive muscle relaxation is a technique that can be used to help calm one's body. It is a good way to release tension in the body and to help gain awareness of what it feels like when the body is tense, aiding in purposeful relaxation. This kid-friendly resource includes a script of what to say to guide a child through progressive music relaxation.

Guided Mindfulness

This resource includes guided imagery and breathing exercises that can be used to help children relax and focus.

Worry Stones

Many shops sell worry stones, but did you know you can make your own? This is a fun activity that involves going out into nature and finding an artifact that can be held onto in times of worry to help transport the child's mind back to that peaceful place in nature.

Stress Balls

Making your own stress balls is a fun activity that kids love. There are a few different ways to make stress balls at home, but whichever one you choose you will end up with your own little tool that can be used throughout the day when the going gets tough.

Zones of Regulation

Zones of Regulation is a program used in many schools to promote self-regulation and emotional control in children. The program uses age-appropriate language and strategies for helping children to identify and deal with their emotions.
